The 22224CC/C3W33 SKF is an open heavy-duty spherical roller bearing with CC optimized internal geometry, C3 enlarged radial clearance and integrated W33 central lubrication groove & hole design. Specially built for heavy radial loads, moderate axial loads and thermal expansion-prone operating conditions, this SKF bearing delivers superior self-aligning capacity and convenient centralized re-lubrication, widely deployed in heavy industrial rotating machinery under continuous high-temperature operation.
Complying with ISO 15312 global bearing standards, precise dimensional parameters: bore diameter 120 mm, outer diameter 215 mm, overall width 58 mm, standard chamfer 2.4×45°, tolerance grade P0, C3 internal clearance, W33 circumferential lubrication groove with three oil holes for uniform grease distribution. The CC design upgrades roller-cage contact structure to boost dynamic load rating significantly.
Inner rings, outer rings and spherical rollers are manufactured from vacuum-degassed high-purity 100Cr6 bearing steel, quenched to HRC 61–63, featuring outstanding wear resistance, contact fatigue strength and thermal dimensional stability. Stamped steel CC cage provides lightweight, low-friction roller guidance, resisting deformation under heavy shock and long-duration running.
Core manufacturing workflows include precision hot forging, high-precision CNC turning, controlled-atmosphere quenching & low-temperature tempering, raceway grinding and superfinishing. Forging optimizes internal metal fiber continuity; stress-relief heat treatment eliminates internal deformation risks; ultra-precision superfinishing minimizes raceway friction coefficient to cut heat generation and extend runtime.
Calculated strictly per ISO 281 life evaluation standard, its L10 rated service life reaches 74,000 hours under standard rated load, stable medium speed and sufficient lubrication. Primary factors shortening service life include overload, excessive shaft misalignment, insufficient lubrication, high ambient temperature and particle contamination.
This W33 lubrication-type spherical roller bearing serves core industries including mining equipment, cement kiln rollers, metallurgical rolling mills, large industrial fans, heavy conveyors and construction machinery. C3 clearance compensates thermal expansion; W33 grooves support external automatic lubrication; powerful self-aligning function offsets installation deflection and shaft bending.
Routine relubrication cycle is 400 operating hours with extreme-pressure lithium high-temperature grease, filling quantity 3.0–3.8 g via W33 lubrication ports. Keep bearing housings sealed against dust; regularly inspect operating temperature, running noise and grease outflow, replace components upon abnormal vibration or abrasion.
Before installation, thoroughly clean mating shafts and housings and verify H7/h6 fit tolerance. Implement symmetrical press-fitting without hammer impact, control coaxiality error within 0.02 mm/m and follow specified fastening torque. Perform full-load trial rotation post-installation. Wear protective gloves and safety goggles during assembly to avoid metal scratch injury.
