The THK LME20GUU is a high-precision cylindrical linear ball bearing, designed for low-friction linear motion on round shafts. This THK LME series linear ball bearing with double-sided UU contact seals delivers smooth linear movement, high load capacity and excellent repeat positioning accuracy for automation and precision machinery systems.
Dimension Specifications: Bore diameter d=20 mm, outer diameter D=32 mm, overall length L=42 mm. Chamfer dimension r=0.5 mm, dimensional tolerance class ISO H7 for the outer housing surface. The internal ball circulation structure enables unlimited stroke linear travel on matching ground shafts. Dual UU rubber seals prevent dust, metal chips and contaminants from entering the ball circulation path while retaining lubricant inside the bearing unit.
Material Configuration: Outer housing: high-strength carbon steel C45, precision machined with good rigidity. Ball retainer: glass-fiber reinforced polyamide PA66, featuring low friction, high dimensional stability and fatigue resistance. Rolling balls: 100Cr6 high-carbon chromium bearing steel, heat-treated to HRC 60–64, outstanding wear resistance and contact fatigue strength. UU contact seals are nitrile rubber (NBR), offering reliable sealing performance within standard industrial temperature ranges.
Core Manufacturing Processes: Carbon steel blanks undergo blanking and cold forming for the outer shell. CNC turning creates precise outer profiles and mounting surfaces. Ball raceway surfaces are heat-treated for surface hardness, followed by precision grinding and superfinishing to minimize surface roughness and reduce rolling friction. The PA66 retainer is injection molded, then assembled with steel balls and dual seals. Final runout and smoothness inspection guarantees consistent linear motion performance.
Service Life: Nominal rating life L10 calculated per ISO 14728-1 standard. Under standard operating conditions: reciprocating linear motion, clean environment, moderate radial load, L10 service life reaches 15,500 operating hours. Service life is affected by load magnitude, shaft surface quality, lubrication condition, contamination, operating speed and misalignment.

Keep shafts and seals free of abrasive debris. Check for rough movement, excessive noise or seal wear. Stop operation immediately if sticking or abnormal backlash occurs.
Installation Instructions: Clean the shaft and housing bore before mounting. Apply light lubricant to the shaft surface. Use press-fit assembly and apply mounting force only to the bearing outer end face. Maintain proper shaft parallelism; avoid angular misalignment. Follow recommended fastening torque for housing clamps. Perform full-stroke reciprocating test after installation to verify smooth linear travel. Never hammer the bearing directly to prevent deformation of the ball circulation path.
