Inner rings, outer rings and rolling balls are manufactured from 100Cr6 chromium bearing steel, through-hardened to HRC 60–64. This material provides excellent contact fatigue resistance, high wear resistance and stable dimensional performance under alternating combined loads. The pressed steel cage is made of DC01 low-carbon steel, separating rolling elements evenly and maintaining stable operation at medium to high rotational speeds.
Key production processes include hot forging to refine metal grain structure, precision turning for blank forming, quenching and tempering heat treatment to relieve residual stress and guarantee uniform hardness, raceway grinding and superfinishing. Superfinishing lowers raceway surface roughness, reduces friction heat and prevents premature surface spalling under complex load conditions.
Nominal L10 service life is calculated following ISO 281. Under standard steady combined load, clean working environment and precise alignment, the expected service life reaches 14,200 operating hours. Major factors shortening service life include excessive axial preload, shaft misalignment, solid particle contamination, overspeeding and sustained high temperature.
This SKF 3311A-2Z bearing is widely applied in gearboxes, agricultural machinery, conveyor drives, construction auxiliary equipment and general industrial transmission systems. Its double-row structure integrates two angular contact rows into a single unit, simplifying housing design while supporting radial and axial loads simultaneously.
Routine inspection interval is 2000 operating hours. The bearing is factory pre-greased; metal shields are non-removable for this sealed version. Technicians should check vibration, running noise and surface temperature regularly. During installation, thoroughly clean shaft and housing seating surfaces, guarantee coaxial alignment, apply press fitting on the inner ring and avoid direct hammer strikes on rings. Perform no-load trial operation after assembly, confirm smooth rotation and normal temperature rise before formal operation.
