The SKF 3306A-2RS1TN9/MT33 is a double-row angular contact ball bearing with 30° contact angle, dual lip contact rubber seals and a glass fibre reinforced polyamide cage, engineered to support combined radial and axial loads in both directions. Dimensions conform to ISO 281 and ISO 15 standards: bore diameter 30 mm, outer diameter 72 mm, overall width 30.2 mm, fillet radius r = 1.1 mm, tolerance class P0, pre-set internal clearance for general industrial service. It is factory pre-lubricated with MT33 grease for long-term service.
Inner rings, outer rings and rolling balls are produced from 100Cr6 high-carbon chromium bearing steel, through-hardened to HRC 60–64. This material delivers superior contact fatigue strength, outstanding wear resistance and stable dimensional stability under fluctuating combined loads. The TN9 cage is glass-fibre reinforced PA66 polyamide, featuring low density, self-lubricating property and good impact resistance within its allowable temperature range.
Core manufacturing workflow consists of hot forging to optimise grain flow, precision turning for ring blanks, controlled quenching and tempering for uniform hardness, raceway grinding and superfinishing. Superfinishing reduces surface roughness, minimises friction heat and inhibits early fatigue spalling under mixed radial‑axial loading.
Nominal L10 service life is calculated in accordance with ISO 281. Under standard steady combined load, clean lubrication and proper alignment, the reference service life reaches 13,500 operating hours. Primary influencing factors include excessive axial preload, shaft misalignment, seal damage, contamination and operating temperature exceeding the grease limit.
This sealed double-row angular contact bearing is widely used in conveyor equipment, agricultural machinery, textile machines, hydraulic pumps and general gear units. Its integrated 2RS1 contact seals block dust and moisture, eliminating frequent re-greasing for medium-duty transmission systems.
Scheduled inspection cycle is 2000 operating hours. Since the bearing is sealed and pre-filled with MT33 grease, disassembly cleaning is prohibited. Operators should monitor running temperature, vibration and abnormal noise. For installation, clean shaft and housing seats thoroughly, control mounting preload properly, maintain concentric alignment, avoid direct hammer impact on race rings. Complete a no-load trial run after assembly to check rotation smoothness and temperature rise before formal commissioning.
