ZKLF3080-2RS-XL is a high-precision double-direction angular contact thrust ball bearing manufactured by INA (Schaeffler), equipped with 2RS lip seals on both sides for integrated dust and contaminant protection. This XL series bearing delivers high axial rigidity and can withstand bidirectional axial loads plus limited radial loads, ideal for compact precision rotary applications.
Dimension Specifications: Bore diameter 30 mm, outer diameter 80 mm, overall width 32 mm. Chamfer dimension r = 1 mm. Tolerance class P4 conforming to ISO 286. The sealed 2RS structure retains grease inside the bearing cavity and blocks ingress of fine particles, cutting down maintenance frequency.
Material Properties: Inner ring, outer ring and ball rolling elements are made of high-carbon chromium bearing steel 100Cr6. After heat treatment, surface hardness reaches 62–66 HRC, offering outstanding wear resistance, contact fatigue strength and stable dimensional consistency. The cage adopts glass-fibre reinforced PA66 polyamide, featuring low friction coefficient, impact resistance and long-term thermal stability up to 120°C. Nitrile rubber (NBR) is used for the 2RS contact seals with good oil resistance.
Manufacturing Process: Raw steel blanks undergo die forging to optimise metal grain flow. Precision turning produces near-net-shape ring profiles. Controlled quenching and tempering achieve uniform hardness and minimise thermal distortion. Raceway grinding and superfinishing reduce surface roughness, enhancing lubricant retention, lowering operating noise and extending fatigue life.
Service Life: L10 rated service life is calculated per ISO 281 standard. Under clean, properly lubricated standard working conditions, the bearing achieves 20,000 operating hours of L10 life. Premature failure is mainly caused by contamination, insufficient lubrication, shaft misalignment and excessive shock axial loads.
Applications: Widely adopted for machine tool rotary axes, indexing tables, precision rotary modules and automation rotary actuators. The machine tool and precision automation industries favour this bearing due to its high axial stiffness, bidirectional thrust load capacity and built-in sealing design.
Maintenance & Installation: Recommended re-lubrication cycle is 2000 working hours with EP high-speed bearing grease. Clean all mating surfaces before assembly. Maintain strict shaft and housing alignment to avoid tilting overload. Use calibrated tightening torque and run a no-load test after mounting to monitor temperature rise and vibration.
Verified dimensions and performance data

According to Schaeffler technical publication TPI 123, the bearing has a 15 mm bore, 60 mm outside diameter and 25 mm width. Its approximate mass is 0.43 kg. The official performance table specifies a basic dynamic axial load rating of 19,600 N, a basic static axial load rating of 28,000 N and a fatigue limit load of 1,650 N.

The listed grease limiting speed is 8,200 min⁻¹ and the thermally safe operating speed is 3,500 min⁻¹. These catalogue values do not replace an application calculation. Suitability depends on the load spectrum, mounting arrangement, adjacent components, temperature, lubrication and required rigidity.
