Founded in 1907 and headquartered in Gothenburg, Sweden, SKF Group is a global leader in the bearing and rotating machinery industry. For over a century, the group has adhered to the core mission of "reducing friction and creating a more energy-efficient society," with businesses covering the entire chain of solutions such as bearings, seals, lubrication systems, and condition monitoring tools. It has a presence in more than 130 countries and regions worldwide, employing over 40,000 people and boasting 17,000 distribution points, serving numerous industries with harsh operating conditions including automotive, industrial, railway, and aerospace.
Innovation is SKF's core competitiveness.

In 2024, the group invested 3.3 billion Swedish kronor in R&D, continuously breaking through technical bottlenecks through in-depth cooperation with universities and customers. FONKIN also cooperates closely with SKF to jointly meet the high-end needs of customers. In the new energy vehicle sector, its developed 1.8m nDm product has reached a speed of 30,000 rpm, and it is currently tackling the next-generation high-speed product with a target speed of 40,000 rpm. Innovative products such as asymmetric hub bearings and low-friction tapered roller bearings can achieve significant advantages of reducing friction by more than 50% and extending service life by 10%. In terms of sustainable development, SKF has won double "A" ratings from CDP in 2024, demonstrating leadership in full-value-chain carbon reduction, with 26 bases worldwide holding LEED green building certifications.

2025 is a crucial year for SKF's strategic upgrading. In terms of production layout, the SKF Super-precision Bearing Center in Airasca, Italy, was officially inaugurated in September. As a highly automated global center of excellence, it integrates the entire chain of resources from R&D to production, greatly enhancing the response capability to customers in industries such as machine tools. The new SKF factory in Dalian, China, has obtained LEED Gold certification for new construction, becoming the first enterprise in mainland China authorized to use the "LEED Manufacturing Mark". In the field of technical cooperation, the group has established a strategic partnership with Sieb & Meyer in magnetic bearing technology, focusing on high-efficiency inverter solutions; it has also collaborated with Carnegie Clean Energy to develop wave energy technology, advancing the layout in the new energy sector.
The Chinese market is an important pillar of SKF's global strategy. In 2025, the group not only released the panoramic view of its new energy technology strategy at the Shanghai Auto Show but also established its Asia-Pacific Automotive Headquarters in Jiading. At the China Innovation Summit held in June, six globally launched products were unveiled, deepening the implementation of the "Intelligence + Cleanliness" strategy. Currently, SKF has 9 production bases and approximately 6,000 employees in China, with a global technology center in Shanghai, fully supporting the development of local and overseas Chinese automakers. In addition, the group completed the divestiture of its seal business in Hanover, USA, focusing on core businesses to enhance profitability; it also launched the carve-out plan for its automotive business, aiming for independent listing to further unlock business value.
