NILOS-RING 32221 AK is an original metal labyrinth sealing component manufactured by ZILLER GmbH Germany, precisely engineered to match the 32221 single-row tapered roller bearing. The AK series features double outer flange construction, designed to mount axially alongside tapered roller bearings. All dimensions conform to NILOS-RING industrial standards; the ring adopts pre-positioned indentation points on the surface to prevent circumferential slippage during continuous rotation, maintaining stable sealing clearance for long-term operation.
The seal blank is fabricated from hot-dip galvanized deep-drawing steel sheet. The multi-layer concentric annular grooves form a non-contact metal labyrinth structure, eliminating rubber elastomer components. Compared with conventional oil seals, it avoids aging, hardening and chemical swelling of rubber materials. The galvanized surface delivers basic anti-corrosion performance against humidity and weak pollutants. The labyrinth channel blocks abrasive dust, slurry and metal particles from invading the bearing raceway, while retaining internal lubricating grease to prevent grease leakage.
Production adopts precision stamping, multi-stage deep drawing, flattening and trimming to guarantee consistent concentricity. Laser indentation creates anti-slip positioning marks. Final surface galvanizing treatment inhibits surface oxidation. Strict flatness and clearance inspection ensure uniform labyrinth gaps after assembly, fully compliant with ZILLER original technical specifications.
Under standard operating temperature range -40℃ ~ +200℃, the NILOS-RING 32221 AK operates steadily without thermal deformation. Service life largely depends on working pollution level and assembly precision. Major failure triggers include excessive axial clearance, severe particle accumulation and improper installation causing ring deformation. When correctly fitted, it can extend 32221 bearing service life significantly under harsh contaminated environments.
This NILOS metal seal is widely adopted in mining machinery, construction equipment, metallurgical transport rollers, agricultural harvesters and heavy-duty vehicle axle assemblies. It is ideal for harsh sites with heavy dust, mud and temperature fluctuation, where rubber oil seals fail quickly.
Pre-installation: Clean bearing, shaft and housing surfaces thoroughly. Install the ring symmetrically on both sides of the 32221 tapered roller bearing; avoid hammer impact to prevent ring distortion. Control axial assembly clearance within the recommended range. Conduct regular visual inspections to check for particle blockage of labyrinth channels. Compressed air cleaning can remove accumulated contaminants. No extra lubrication is required for the NILOS-RING itself.
