IKO NA4922 Needle Roller Bearing Technical Introduction

The IKO NA4922 is a machined‑type needle roller bearing with inner ring, widely known as heavy‑duty drawn cup needle roller unit, high capacity needle bearing for compact machinery, designed to deliver high radial load capacity within limited installation space, a popular choice for compact transmission assemblies.
Key dimensional parameters: Bore diameter \(d=110\ \text{mm}\), outer diameter \(D=150\ \text{mm}\), width \(B=40\ \text{mm}\), minimum chamfer dimension \(r_{\text{min}}=1.5\ \text{mm}\). Tolerance grade complies with ISO‑492 normal precision class. This double‑row needle roller structure supports pure heavy radial loads while saving radial installation envelope.
Material specification: Inner ring and outer ring adopt 100Cr6 high‑carbon chromium bearing steel, achieving HRC 60‑64 surface hardness, featuring excellent wear resistance, high contact‑fatigue strength and decent anti‑aging performance. Needle rollers are manufactured from 100Cr6 bearing steel for uniform load distribution. The pressed steel cage uses SPCC cold‑rolled steel sheet, offering high rigidity, low mass and stable guidance for needle rollers under shock‑loading conditions.
Core manufacturing processes: Components start from hot forging to optimise metal grain flow, followed by precision turning to achieve near‑net geometry. Strict quenching and tempering heat treatment stabilises material microstructure and reduces residual stress. Raceway grinding and needle roller superfinishing realise low‑roughness contact surfaces, lowering friction, wear and operating heat under heavy radial loads.
Service life: Service life is calculated according to ISO 281 standard. Under standard working conditions with permissible radial load and moderate operating speed, the nominal \(L_{10}\) service life reaches 15 000 operating hours. Primary life‑influencing factors include actual radial load, operating speed, lubrication condition, shaft housing alignment and particle contamination.
Application industries: Widely adopted in construction machinery, automotive transmissions, machine tool auxiliary units, material‑handling equipment and agricultural machinery. Its high radial load capacity and compact radial dimension make it ideal for gearboxes, swing mechanisms and articulated joint assemblies.
Maintenance guidelines: Complete routine inspection every 600‑800 operating hours. Recommend lithium‑based extreme‑pressure grease; fill 30‑40 % of internal free volume. Keep shaft and housing seating surfaces clean without debris. Monitor operating noise, temperature and vibration. Stop operation promptly when overheating or abnormal noise occurs.
Installation notes: Verify shaft and housing dimensional accuracy and surface finish before mounting. Ensure precise shaft‑housing alignment to avoid edge‑loading. Apply correct pressing force only to bearing ring shoulder; forbid hammer striking on rolling elements. After installation, check free rotation and operating temperature to confirm proper assembly status.
