FONKIN:2025 Automechanika Shanghai Opens with Record 7,465 Exhibitors

The 2025 Automechanika Shanghai kicked off at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), boasting a record 7,465 exhibitors from 44 countries and regions—up 10% year-on-year. Covering 383,000 square meters (a 9% expansion), it became the first edition to use all 15 halls of the venue, reflecting the global auto industry's focus on innovation and sustainability.

The event saw increased domestic and international participation, with 15 national/regional pavilions and key domestic auto industry clusters. Its flagship CEO Summit on November 25 gathered global executives to discuss industry trends.

"The record scale confirms China's auto industry vitality and our platform's value," said Zhou Shaolan, General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (Hong Kong). "Our 94 concurrent events with 450+ experts will explore market trends and strengthen supply chains."

FONKIN sent representatives to attend the exhibition. The attending director stated that FONKIN will keep pace with the trends of the times, fully pursue diversified operations, provide customers with one-stop auto parts solutions to save their time, and offer competitive pricing and core services.

Ms. Zhang, Chairperson of China National Machinery Industry International Co., Ltd., noted China's role as a global auto sales, production and new energy hub. "More automakers have shifted from visitors to exhibitors, highlighting the platform's role in cross-border collaboration," she added.

Major exhibitors included GAC AION, Li Auto, Chery, Tesla and key component suppliers. The new energy and intelligent connected vehicle sector expanded 50%, featuring core electric components, ADAS and charging solutions. Over 40% of exhibitors offered related solutions, with nearly 30 first-time participants and returning brands like BorgWarner and Bosch.

International participation was strong with 15 pavilions (20% larger in area), including Germany, South Korea and India. Pre-registered visitors rose 25% year-on-year, covering 160 countries, plus 261 buyer delegations from 50 countries—with over 10 new delegations from Argentina, Denmark etc.

The 94 concurrent events included the CEO Summit and technical seminars on thermal management and intelligent chassis. Special zones featured green maintenance workshops and a modification & technology area with interactive activities, accompanied by the debut of mascot AutoHu.
